Al een tulp in je haar? 

Verschillende rapporten tonen Canada regelmatig als beste land ter wereld om
te wonen. Laatst koos Moneysense op basis van gedegen onderzoek Ottawa als
beste plaats in Canada om te wonen.  Dat betekent dat Ottawa dus de beste
plaats ter wereld zou zijn om te wonen. En nog klagen wij over gaten in de
weg, gesloten stranden in verband met vuil water, afvalbergen, slechte
chauffeurs, vervallen gebouwen, onbeleefde taxi chauffeurs, het city

1 Vrijdag 11 mei – borrel in Prinses Margriet Café

Vanaf 8 uur is er een borrel in het Prinses Margriet Café op het
Tulpfestival in Ottawa. Val gratis binnen en geniet tegelijkertijd van Steve
Brenninkmeyer’s Tempus Fugatives, die een keur aan Nederlandse hits (geen
smartlappen) ten gehore gaat brengen (ook geen lipsyncing). Kroketten en
poffertjes om alvast een dammetje te leggen. Parkeren doe je het beste in de
garage in de Markt of gratis in het business district, maar dan moet je wel
effe een stukje lopen. Toegang gratis, ook voor Steve’s band. En dat valt
altijd goed bij d’n zuinige Nederlander.


2 Vroege Vogels met Gerhard Bruins 
 
Gerhard wil ons deze keer meenemen naar Petri eiland,  het wordt
georganiseerd in samenwerking met het programma "24 heures de science" en
"Le Club des ornithologues de l'Outaouais." Houdt de polifinario in de
gaten!

Schedule and Address Change for the KLM Ottawa to Montreal BUS Service.
 
Dear Travel Partners,
 
For those of you with passengers booked and/or ticketed on the KLM bus from
Montreal to Ottawa, please take note of the following schedule and address
change.  
 
On June 1st, the new pick-up and drop-off location for the bus will be at
the bus station situated at 265 Catherine Street in Ottawa.
 
From June 4th to October 27th inclusive, the bus will depart Ottawa at
14.00hrs instead of 14.30, due to the earlier departure of KLM672 during the
summer months.

5 Dutch Weekends at the Canadian War Museum

In honour of the long-standing friendship between Canada and The
Netherlands, the War Museum will host three Dutch weekends: Meet veterans
who served in Europe during WWII and listen to their compelling personal
experiences. Handle the equipment Canadian soldiers used, listen – with your
children – to the reading of “A Bloom of Friendship” and send a message of
friendship to The Netherlands. Coffee, tea and Dutch friendship cookies will

6 Dutch Courage
Explore the duality of culture: come and see how first and second generation
local Dutch artists have tapped into their creative brain and produced
innovative, modern art, in a variety of media and temperament. The works are
varied, and consist of modern sculptures, tiles, drawings and paintings.
Celebrate their creativeness and connection with the land of their

7 The Play In Which (We Hope) Nothing Will Happen
Theater Group Max, the well-known children’s Theatre group from The
Netherlands will put on a number of performances at the Canadian War Museum
to perform their latest play “The Play In Which (We Hope) Nothing Will
Happen”. It is a comical play, as the title suggests, in which the creators
disorder the conventions of theatre and of watching it. This play is for
